Klaudia & German Khatylaevs - Shamanic Mystery

German y Claudia Khatylaev nacieron en la República de Saja, Yakutia, en el extremo noreste de Siberia, donde la vida de las personas en el duro clima de la Taiga está muy en sintonía con la naturaleza, donde la caza, la pesca y la cría de caballos y ganado están el sótano de la supervivencia, donde una cultura animista intensa y milenaria y una tradición chamánica sigue viva e importante, ¡y donde el arpa judía (Khomus) es el instrumento musical nacional!

Claudia se crió en una familia de músicos en la región de Viliui, donde le enseñaron el canto tradicional bajo el ojo benevolente de su abuela, un chamán. Alemán creció como cazador en los bosques de Taatta.

Después de conocerse en 1987 a través de su amor común a la tierra natal de Sakha, pronto comenzaron a reconstruir instrumentos musicales tradicionales y a recolectar melodías casi olvidadas y técnicas de canto de los ancianos en las aldeas muy remotas de la Taiga y la Tundra de Yakutian. Al hacerlo, German y Claudia Khatylaev contribuyeron a mantener e incluso a revivir una gran parte de la rica y antigua tradición musical de Sakha.

German and Claudia Khatylaev were born in the Sakha Republic, Yakutia in the far North-East of Siberia - where the people's life in the harsh climate of the Taiga is very much in tune with nature - where hunting, fishing and raising horses and cattle is the basement of surviving - where an intense and millennia old animistic culture and shamanic tradition is still alive and important - and where the Jew's Harp (Khomus) is the national musical instrument!

Claudia was raised in a family of musicians in the Viliui region where she was taught traditional singing under the benevolent eye of her grandmother - a shaman. German grew up as a hunter in the forests of Taatta.

After the met in 1987 through their common love to the homeland Sakha they soon began to reconstruct traditional musical instruments and to collect almost forgotten melodies and singing techniques from the old people in the very remote villages of the Yakutian Taiga and Tundra. Doing so, German and Claudia Khatylaev did contribute to keep and even to revive a large part of the rich ancient musical tradition of Sakha.

On this CD you find carefully selected songs from the musical legacy of German and Claudia Khatylaev, that gives you a deep and intense impression of the musical tradition of Sakha. It is a charming journey you are invited to, that carries you far away through the boreal forests of Yakutia into the the very feeling of a huge ancient heritage.
